While at Rivers Allison Platt was project manager for the first new downtown streetscape in many years. The sketch below shows the original concept for a new or renovated building in this location. A local investor built a new mixed-use building in the downtown and the Town improved one block of sidewalks on Union Chapel Road and one block on Second Street to complement the new construction. The pattern of the brick paving suggests Native American bead patterns.
RESULTS: While this project neared completion, Allison Platt assisted the Town in preparing a BUILD grant proposal for $5.2 million from the Federal DOT BUILD program. The Town was awarded these funds in September 2020. This work is scheduled to be bid in January, 2023.
